2 Ragnar Races Down, 14 to Go!

One day, I'd like to be able to say I've done all 16 Ragnar relay races.

I say this while I am still in bed trying to recover from the lack of sleep, soreness and allergy attack the great Wasatch Back gave me.

Pure insanity, and people love it. People really LOVE it. They dress up, paint their vans or small SUVs, and run 15-20 INTENSE miles in a period of about 30 hours (16 hours if you are the BYU cross country team).

My great friends and most adventurous married couple, Joe and Olivia were excited to be able to join the team about 12 hours before the race started. It was fun to have them there with the rest of my Redmond teammates.

We didn't get to hang with the other van much, which I thought was a bit of a bummer 'cause they are all fun friends.

Our van totally rocked it out! We had great conversation, beat our best times and raced the original "Ragnar," which is the mother of all inclines. It is spread out between 2 runners, the first gaining an elevation of about 1500 feet in 3 miles, the next runner gaining about 1700 feet in about 4 miles.

It is one of the most exciting, invigorating and draining things I've done. After both races I think about how I probably won't want to do another...
but I doubt it.

More pictures coming soon.......
