Tuesday Tip: #3

Practice yoga.

Check out Madonna! Ever wonder how she got those killer arms? She is an ashtanga yoga queen! She even sings the opening chant to primary series on her Ray of Light album.



If you haven't ever taken a yoga class, I strongly encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and give it a try. Most people love Vinyasa or power yoga because it is a great way to stretch your muscles, build strength and break a sweat all in 1 workout. Yoga is perfect for your "resting" day. I could go on and on about the benefits of practicing yoga but really, it is just something you need to take the time to discover yourself. Everybody knows yoga is good for the body and mind but once you really let yourself open up to the practice it can be an amazingly enlightening experience.

Make sure to research the class you decide to attend or video you choose to watch. Remember to practice caution and take each posture at your own level and with whatever modifications you may need. Yoga should be challenging but relaxing to the mind. A good teacher will help guide you through the practice in an appropriate way in order to avoid injuries. Don't forget to breathe!
